Alex Irish is a Texas-born Afro-Latina artist whose music moves instinctively across alternative rock, hip-hop, R&B, pop and Latin sounds. North Texas artist Luke Herbert builds immersive worlds from the inside out, writing, producing, engineering and performing every instrument in his music. After years developing behind the scenes, including time as an in-house producer for Cash Money West, Luke returned to Texas and brought his own voice into focus across The Vujà Dé, Stripped Vol. 1 and his 2025 debut album, Forever Came Too Soon. By the time Dallas came to know Spencer Mahurt as Uncle Skitz, he had already lived several musical lives. He began recording and producing as a teenager, released early mixtapes as Y-Slim, performed with the four-person group 5siiide and developed into a gifted songwriter and natural cultivator of talent. He was the first artist to believe in a young SADER, years before he became a Grammy Award-winning producer. Spencer later brought Tay Money into the studio, where she, Spencer and SADER collaborated on “Lewis & Clark,” the 2017 debut single that began her recording career.

Uncle Skitz became the fullest expression of everything Spencer had lived and learned. His high-pitched shrieks, elastic melodies and unpredictable flows made him unmistakable, but love, addiction, fatherhood, heartbreak and the fight to become someone better gave his music its weight. Those truths converged on 1PLAYAWAY, the thrilling and deeply personal debut album he created after joining IRAS in 2019.

Spencer died unexpectedly at 26, less than 24 hours before the album’s rollout was scheduled to begin. Released posthumously on July 24, 2020, 1PLAYAWAY preserves the man and artist he had fought to become. His legacy continues through his son, family, catalog, collaborators and the artists and creatives he helped recognize something in themselves before the rest of the world could see it.
